YEAR 2004
The year 2004 was marked by Antonio’s meeting and working together with pianist Jean-Marie Machado.
Antonio Placer took part in two musical productions by Jean-Marie Machado,
La Main des Saisons
and La Fille du Diable, which were staged at Conflans-Sainte-Honorine Theatre, the Francheville jazz festival, and other venues nationwide: Foix, Cergy-Pontoise, Vitry-sur-Seine, Alès.
La Main des Saisons, under the direction of Éric Villevière, brought together prestigious musicians from the jazz scene: Andy Sheppard, saxophones, Pascal Contet, accordion, Ricardo del Fra, acoustic bass, François Merville, drums, Jean-Yves Pénafiel, voice, and Bernard Têtu’s Solistes de Lyon contemporary music ensemble.
Antonio subsequently invited Jean-Marie to join him in a duet performance at the Tencin Musiques Plurielles festival.

In 2004, Antonio Placer staged duet performances with Stracho Temelkovski, in Seynod and Mens.

Following the release of
Pan de Harapo Banda
in April 2004, a series of concerts were staged both in France and Sardinia.
The CD Pan de Harapo Banda was:
• awarded a 4-star rating in Monde de la Musique
• deemed ‘Remarkable’ by EPOK magazine
• recommended by Classica
Antonio Placer did residency and training work on several occasions at the CFMI in Tours, and was associated with the Trièves choir within the framework of the convention with Isère General Council.

Release of the album SIRIA (Le Chant du Monde / Harmonia Mundi, June 2005)
The album Siria was greeted with various distinctions:
• La Revue du son ‘fell in love with it’
• it was praised by Guitare Classique
• one song from the album was used in French essentials III, world music produced in France a sample of his music alongside that of other artists of nationwide or worldwide fame, put together by the French Music Export Bureau
• one song from the album was chosen as part of a compilation CD distributed with the January-February 2006 issue of La Revue du Son, circulation 45,000, owing to the quality of both the performance and the recording.

November 18 and 25, 2005 UNESCO As a Galician exile, Antonio Placer was asked for a presentation of his work as part of Galicia’s formal application to be registered on the list of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity; the event was presided over by Mr. Luis Bará Torres, Xunta de Galicia general secretary for creation and cultural diffusion.

• talk at Mounier secondary school in Grenoble: an initiation to Spanish poetry
• talk at the Saint-Ismier lycée agricole: putting together a collection of poems, working on diction
• talk at Paul-Bert primary school in Grenoble: games involving voice and writing skills…
Residency in Trièves:
Participation in poetry readings, concerts, lectures, and talks in Monestier-de-Clermont and Mens, in collaboration with music and Spanish language teachers, with a view to exploring oral culture with poems as a medium. Various interventions organised by the Granjou Cultural Centre, public rehearsals, and talks in and around schools, in which Antonio tells the Placer story, revives teenage memories… The final year was devoted mainly to getting young people to discover they can voice their opinions and their viewpoints through many forms of expression.
